ONE TEAM is the main project championed by the Euroleague for the community. This social program is a part of the Euroleague since 2012. Its goal is to promote and improve the quality of life for people with physical and mental disabilities, youth at risk and more - through basketball. Euroleague's main partner in this project is the Special Olympics - an international organization that promotes sports among people with mental disabilities.
Except for the Euroleague's and club regular activities during the season, there is one match day - a week of Euroleague games - dedicated solely to ONE TEAM. This season it will be this upcoming match day, which will be held through December 1-2.during said week, the Euroleague will be branded for ONE TEAM, highlighted by the players of all the teams, who will wear ONE TEAM jerseys.
The message this week will be that there are no Stars or individual players - we are all ONE TEAM. In addition, girls and boys from ONE TEAM project will participate in pre-game lineup presentations of each game along with the stars of the Euroleague. In addition, related activities with the project participants will be held during half time. As part of the project, Maccabi Tel Aviv is collaborating with "Special Olympics Israel" and has adopted at risk youth from the village ‘Ma’ayanot’.
