Maccabi's ambassadors for the EuroLeague's One Team program – John DiBartolomeo, Yovel Zoosman, Nikola Vujcic and Doron Jamchy – arrived to the Ayanot youth village where they've held various activities with the boarding school team – which is accompanied by the club. The current and former Maccabi players gave tips for their games and practices and in addition to assisting them with drills, the young players had lunch with the Maccabi players (past and present) in the village's dining room.
"It was important for us to come up here and participate in this project that has a long time connection with this amazing youth village", said Doron Jamchy, who is today the club's vice CEO for both the marketing and the community relations departments. "We've seen a lot succeeding here, and not necessarily in the aspect of basketball. One of One Team's goals is to receive tools that will help not only in the professional aspect but tools that will also help develop their personalities, values and life in general".
"I started playing at the age of 6, for me it's my entire life and everything that I do I'm happy to be here and help you, I'm here to answer any query that you might have so don't be shy", said Yovel Zoosman to the boys, he then proceeded to teach them how to warm up properly".
"I'm happy to see you again", said Maccabi's sports director Nikola Vujcic in his opening remark. "It's always good to see how you improve and progress, you need to continue and work hard, basketball is a beautiful sport and a good way to learn also important things about life".
