Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv battled their way on Wednesday to the Israeli Winner League Semifinals after a dramatic 93:92 road win over Hapoel Be'er Sheva. Giannis Sfairopoulos's squad completed a series sweep against Rami Hadar's group and now waits for the series winner between Hapoel Haifa and Hapoel Eilat.

5 Yellow & Blue players concluded the night with double-digit points as Caloiaro led Maccabi scorers with 18 points, adding 3 assists and 3 steals. Ante Zizic finished another successful night under the rims, scoring 16 points while grabbing 5 rebounds. Scottie Wilbekin contributed 15 points as T.J Cline and Oz Blayzer (9 rebounds) each added 10 points.



"I want to congratulate our players for the win, we won it through our good offense shooting the ball in great percentages", Summarised head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos. "We were in control, holding the lead for almost all minutes of the game. Our defense wasn't as it was in Game 1, and I expect us to play better defensively in the next round as Be'er Sheva never gave up, fought until the end, hitting some big shots. Rami Hadar deserves credit for doing a really good job building a good roster with great chemistry".

"I'm happy we got the job done, getting the victory and advancing to the next round. It wasn't easy as Be'er Sheva is a tough team to play against, and they deserve credit for a good series and a great season", Praised Oz Blayzer, who had an excellent game with 10 points and 9 boards. "We didn't guard good enough today, we could have made it easier on ourselves if we would've played better defensively, but now this series is behind us, and we are with our heads towards our next opponent".

"We have enough tools and talent to fill in for the missing guys even though our two guards were an integral part of our team. It's time for players to step up for the task and fill in for the empty spots. Othello (Hunter) will return in the next series, and unfortunately, we lost Dragan (Bender) for the remainder of the season.
