“I’d like to congratulate Oded Katash and Hapoel Galil Elyon for qualifying to the final four. No one expected that in the beginning of the season. I’m happy to play again against a legend like Oded Katash”, said Neven Spahija, Maccabi Tel Aviv’s coach.
Maccabi will play against Hapoel Galil Elyon
in the final four semi finals on Tuesday night (20:50) at Nokia arena.
Spahija added: “At the beginning of the season we had a new team, but we got better and some tough opponents in the euroleague made us a better team at this stage of the season. We hope to get the job done and win the championship”.
Katash answered: “thanks for coach Spahija, but I’m not so happy to play against Maccabi… I’m very proud of my players. We had lots of ups and downs this season, and we are so excited to be here”.
Maccabi’s captain, Derrick Sharp: “I’d like to congratulate the teams, coaches and owners that have qualified for the final four. Everybody except Maccabi loves this system. We prefer a playoff series but we are professionals and we’ll deal with it. The atmosphere is great, its like before a Euroleague contest”.
