Nikola Vujcic

Sport Director
Born:
14.06.1978
Nikola Vujcic's journey at Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv began in 2002, a year after he led Villerban to win the French league championship. Immediately upon his arrival, the Croatian center's level of play and contribution to the team stood out as he finished his first season in yellow with averages of almost 18 points and seven rebounds per game.

Vujcic reached his peak playing in arguably the best team Maccabi ever had. Between 2003 and 2005, Alongside Anthony Parker, Sarunas Jasikevicius, and more, he won two consecutive European championships - the only time this happened in the club's history.

Vujcic was also the first player in Euroleague history to record a triple-double and did it twice: in 2005 against Procom Gdynia with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists, and in 2006 against Olimpia Ljubljana with 27 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists.

The Croatian went on to win 5 Israeli championships in a row before also playing for Olympiakos, Efes Pilsen, and Split. He founded a youth basketball academy and then returned to Maccabi. Initially, he served as a team manager, and from 2013/14 - a season that ended with the Euroleague title - he began his role as the club's sports director. A position he still holds these days.
