This is Jake Cohen's seventh season after he has undoubtedly become one of the most identified players with yellow-blue in recent years.
Even before the playoffs this year, Jake Cohen wore the team's uniform in 179 league and European games. In 33 regular season games Cohen played 17.1 minutes, during which he scored 7.5 points and grabbed 4.3 rebounds. The forward has a very impressive shooting percentage both behind the arc and from the line (44.9% 3pt, 87.7% ft).
In the quarterfinal Derby series, he averaged 15.3 points per game, more than any other Israeli player in the league playoffs. In the playoff efficiency index (15.4 points) Cohen was ranked 16th in the league and second in the Israeli league.
Cohen's top two games of the season were against Maccabi Ashdod and Bnei Herzliya, when he scored 20 points in each one. His best Euroleague game of the this season was in February vs Darussafaka, then he finished with 9 points in less than 13 minutes on the court.
In the 2019/20 season with Maccabi TLV, which has already secured a place in the Euroleague playoffs (the European season was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic) and finished with another national championship win, Cohen averaged 11.3 points with 41.3% from 3pts range and 5.3 rebounds per game in the regular season. He was on fire in the game of two overtimes at Gilboa with 33 points and 14 rebounds and in the playoffs contributed 7.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2 assists per game, along with close mentoring to the young Yovel Zoosman and Deni Avdija.
In 2020, Cohen journeyed for a year at Obradoiro in Spain, but quickly returned home to Maccabi in 2021. The veteran big found his place, using his smarts and experience to contribute 7.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in the Israeli league, while connecting on 47.6% of his long range shots.
