First loss this season in the Premier League and the third in four days for Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv, 74-76 in Malha vs Hapoel Jerusalem.
After the home losses to TAU Vitoria and Red Star Belgrade, there was a lot of pressure on the Maccabi players. But this did not prevent them to lead for most of the game: 25-22 at the end of the first quarter, 43-38 at half time & 59-54 at the end of the third.
Two minutes into the final period Maccabi had a 64-54 lead but then Gerald Brown took over and Jerusalem ran 10-0, evened the score and took a 70-66 lead. Maccabi replied and made the score 74-74. Brown mad two free throws with 10 seconds to go. Derrick Sharp tried a shot from the corner, Nikola Vujcic ulled down the rebound, tried a shot, missed and then tried a tap in and found the rim.
Brown scorer of 14 of Jerusalem’s last points, was the MVP with 27 pts & 4 assists. Marcus Goree was Maccabi’s top player with 17 pts & 6 rbds.
