Sean Daniel joins Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club as Assistant General Manager alongside Claudio Coldebella. The former player – son of Motti Daniel, a Maccabi star during the 1980s and 1990s and current national team manager – has served in recent years as the organizational and sports director at Maccabi Tel Aviv-Shoham.

“This is an important addition”, stated club chairman Shimon Mizrahi. “Sean Daniel grew up in a household where basketball was central, going back to his grandfather and, of course, his father Motti. He is following in their footsteps and will serve as Claudio’s right hand. Sean is continuing the path he started in the youth academy and will strengthen the connection between the senior team and the next generation department”.

“I am very pleased to welcome Sean Daniel to this new role as Assistant General Manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club”, GM Claudio Coldebella told maccabi.co.il.

“Sean has built a unique profile through his experience both as a player and as a basketball executive. He understands every level of Israeli basketball – from youth development to the professional game – and combines that knowledge with a modern vision for player development and club organization. I believe he has the right values, basketball culture, and professional experience to support me in my role as General Manager and to help our entire organization continue moving forward”.

“We will work side by side every day, based on mutual trust, open communication, and a shared commitment to Maccabi’s long-term sporting vision”, added Coldebella. “One of my priorities as General Manager is to develop not only players and coaches, but also the people who work within our organization. A club with the history and ambition of Maccabi Tel Aviv must create opportunities for talented professionals to grow and assume greater responsibility. Sean represents exactly this philosophy, and I am delighted that he will continue his development within our Club”.

“His appointment will also further strengthen the connection between our Youth Department and the professional team, ensuring greater alignment in player development and creating a clearer pathway for our young talents to reach the highest level. This connection is fundamental for the future of Maccabi”.

“Finally, I would like to sincerely thank Alon Ben Zaken for his collaboration, his openness, and his support throughout this process. His commitment to the Club and to the development of our young players has made this appointment possible, and I look forward to continuing to work closely together for the benefit of Maccabi Tel Aviv.”
