After two wins in Siena (Euroleague) & Ljubljana (Adriatic League), Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv arrived at Novo Mesto for their third game in five days. The home tem exploited Maccabi’s fatigue to win 83-80.
Maccabi, without the injured Tal Burstein, led 22-15 at the end of the first quarter, 38-36 at half time and 59-56 at the end of the third period.
Four minutes from time Maccabi still held a 69-67 lead. But a turn over and then a flagrant foul by David Bluthenthal, enabled the Slovenians to take the lead and inflict Maccabi its third loss in the Adriatic League.
Jamie Arnold, the American who played for David Blatt in Galil Elyon, was the main responsible for his team’s win: His stats 34 pts in 70% FG, 9 rbds, 4 assists & 2 blocked shots.
