On Decemnber 23, 2002, Krka Novo Mesto inflicted Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv one of its four losses in the Goodyear League, 80-83 in Slovenia. On Saturday Maccabi evened things op when they won in Yad Eliyahu 76-52.
The main deiffernce between the two games was Maccabi’s defence. The Yellow & Blues led 23-13 at the end of the first quarter and 46-28 at the half. The margin was 30 at the end of the thirs (64-34). But in the first five minutes of the final period, Maccabi failed to score and the visitors came back to 64-50. In the final minutes Maccabi went 12-2 for its 15th win in a row.
Two players were outstanding: Yotam Halperin with 20 pts in 78% FG and David Bluthenthal with 16 pts and 6 rbds.
