After the cancellation of the Adriatic League game in Belgrade and the return home on Thursday, coach David Blatt had more time than usually to prepare his team. In spite of this not everything went smoothly in the Goshen Sports Hall before the 79-68 win vs bottom of the table Elitsur Kiryat Ata/Motskin.
The hosts led 20-19 at the end of the first quarter mainly due to Pete Sissoms. Maccabi took a 23-20 lead but a 7-0 run by Ata/Motskin made it 27-23 and 31-27 for the home team. Maccabi tightened its defense and at the half led 43-38, won the third 17-10 to take a 60-48 into the final period and made sure of its 20th win in a row.
Marcus Goree was the top Maccabi player with 15 pts, 9 rbds & 3 assists.
