The draw for the Euroleague Regular Season, will be made on Monday, July 07 at 18:00 at the Hilton Hotel in Tel Aviv. This will launch the 2003/04 Euroleague season which will also be officially closed in Tel Aviv, where the Final Four will be held on April 29th 2004.
The draw, that will be televised live on Chanell 1 and thoughout Europe, will be held in the presence of the Mayor of Tel Aviv-Jaffa Mr. Ron Huldai, Euroleague’s top executives and representatives of all 24 participating clubs. The draw will be carried out by two od Maccabi’s past players, Tal Brody & Aulcie Perry, and the Panagiotis Yannakis of Greece.
The 24 clubs will be drawn into three groups according to 8 quality levels. Level 1 consists of Euroleague champions Barcelona, finalists Benetton Treviso and CSKA Moscow who took part in the last Final Four. Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv is in level 2 with Virtus Roma & Efes Pilsen Istanbul.
Level 3: Olympiacos Piraeus, Olimpija Ljubljana & Skipper Bologna. Level 4: Panathinaikos Athens, Ulker Istanbul, TAU Vitoria. Level 5: Cibona Zagreb, Adecco ASVEL, Unicaja Malaga. Level 6: Virtus Bologna, Pamesa Valencia, Pau-Otthez. Level 7: Zalgiris Kaunas, Slask Wroclaw, Partizan Belgrade. Level 8: Alba Berlin, AEK Athens, Krka Novo Mesto.
