The Israel National Team, preparing for the European Championship, this afternoon beat Slovenia 89-80. It was the first win for Israel after four consecutive losses – three in the Strasbourg tournament and one last night in Slovenia 64-83.
Israel top player was Yoav Saffer with 25 points. He also led the Israeli scorers in the loss to Slovenia with 14 pts.
The other Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv who scored today: Yotam Halperin 14, Derrick Sharp 10, Gur Shelef 9, Tal Burstein 6.
The team returns home tonight and next week will take part in the Acropolis Tournament in Athens.
