Lithuania this evening won the European Championship in Stockholm with a 93-84 win over Spain. Italy won the bronze medal with a 69-67 win over France.
Sarunas Jasikevicius, who will arrive thie week to Tel Aviv to join Maccabi Elite, scored 10 points & handed 9 assists for Lithuania. He tops the assists standing with an average of 8.1 and was elected MVP of the championship. The gold medal tonight completes a wonderful season for the point guard who won the Euroleague title with Barcelona as well as the Spanish championship & Cup.
