Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv lost this evening 80-81 to Turkish champions Efes Pilsen in Istanbul.
Pilsen led 49-37 at the half but Maccabi improved in the second half and led 81-80 with 8 seconds to go. Then Kaya Peker made two free throws and then blocked Tal Burstein’s shot to make sure of Efes Pilsen’s win.
Maccabi scorers: Vujcic, Parker & Burstein 14 pts each, Saffar 12, Baston 11, Thomas 6, Sharp 5 & Jasikevicius 4.
Tomorrow (Wednesday, 16:00) Maccabi plays Ulker.
