Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv will have to beat Montepachi Siena this eveening (NOKIA Arena, 20:30) to become a group leader in the “Top 16” stage. This after Benetton Treviso beat Idea Slask Wroclaw 77-72 and finish Group C in second place with a 10-04 record but with a higher cumulative score difference than Maccabi. A loss by Maccabi will put them on 10-04 but Benetton will be the best second team in the three groups.
Maccabi could finish top of Group B if they win vs Siena and CSKA lose in Kaunas vs Zalgiris.
The Italian team practiced last night in the NOKIA Arena without their Macedonian point guard Stefanov (injured) and forward Galanda (sick), who did not travel to Tel Aviv.
