Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club is happy to announce that Yaniv Green has signed for the club for a period of three seasons.
Green, a 24 years old forward/center (2.06 m), joins Maccabi after his best ever season which started in September 2003 with the national team ranked seventh in the European Championsghip in Stockholm. With Hapoel Tel Aviv he earned second place in the Premier League Championship and played in the Final Four of the Europe League (third place).
Green grew up in Bnei Herzliya Youth section alongsude Tal Buerstein who he joins now in the Euroleague Champions line up. He played two seasons for Herzliya in the Premier League, one season with Maccabi Raanana, one more season for Herzliya and in the last two seasons for Hapoel Tel Aviv.
His averages in the 2003/04 Europe League: 20 games, 17 min, 11.2 pts, 6 rbds and 1 blocked shot. 60.3% for two pts, 74.6% FT. In the Premier League: 22 games, 19 min, 10.3 pts, 4.5 rbds, 1 bst. 63.5% for two pts, 73.3% FT.
Green was a member of the u.20 national team that won the silver medal in the European Championships 2000 in FYROM. Last summer was one of the outstanding players of the national team who was ranked seventh in the European Championships in Sweden. His averages in the EC: 7 games, 23 min, 11 pts, 4.8 rbds. 70% for two pts, 70% FT.
