Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv completed its preseason games with a 97-91 win over Dynamo St. Petesburg in a game played in Hadar Yosef.
After five season with Maccabi, David Blatt was welcomed warmly as the coach of the Dynamo and his team gave Maccabi a close fight and made it an appropriate preparation for their first Euroleague game, on Monday in Kaunas.
. The Russian team led 65-53 mid way through the third period. But then Derrick Sharp came in and inspired Maccabi to a 37-13 run (90-78), scoring 15 pts in 100% FG and stopping Ed Cota and assuring Maccabi its 13th win of the season.
MVP for the night was Maceo Baston with 25 pts in 89% FG, 14 rbds and 2 bsts. Other scorers: Parker 16, Vujcic 15, Green 15, Saras 5, Burstein 2, Kommatos 2, Halperin 2.
Top scorers for Dynamo: McCarty 18, Davis & Askrabic 17 pts each.
