A jumper by Anthony Parker, 0.8 seconds from time, gave Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv a 105-103 win over the Toronto Raptors in a game played at the Air Canada Center in Toronto. This was Maccabi’s fifth win in 11 games vs NBA teams and the first victory of a European club over an NBA team on American soil
. Before the game the Maccabi players and management met on court with the NBA commissioner David Stern. The game was played in front of almost a full house of 17,281 spectators, most of them Maccabi supporters.
The Raptors led 24-20 at the end of the first quarter, 58-46 at half time & 81-77 after the third. period. With 1:50 to go, Maccabi took the lead 95-93 and made it 99-95. The home team came back to 101-101 & 103-103. And then came Parker.
