The small forward that beat Maccabi twice last season, has signed for three years
Maccabi Tel Aviv Basket Ball Club is happy to announce that the Lithuanian International Simas Jasaitis has joined the team on a three years contract. Jasaitis, a small forward (24, 2.02 m), married and a father to a daughter, joins Neven Spahija, his coach at Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius who beat Maccabi twice in the Euroleague last season. Jasaitis scored 21 pts in Vilnius and 11 pts in Tel Aviv. His 2005/06 Euroleague averages: 29 min, 10.7pts, 5 rbds, 1.5 stls & 1 assist. Jasaitis started his career with Sakali Vilnius and since 2001 he has played for Lietuvis Rytas winning two Lithuanian Championships, (2002, 2006), the NEBL title (2002) & the ULEB Cup (2005). Played for the Lithuanian Juniors & Under 20 teams and played for the National Team in the 2005 European Championship. These days he is training with the National Team for the World Championship to be played next month in Japan.
