Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv is on the list of 13 teams with a three-year A License. Eight additional teams received a B License, good for one year; and a C License was presented to the finalist in the Eurocup.
As the date for the Euroleague lottery approaches (8 July), Euroleague management announced the lists of the participating teams who meet the league’s new criteria.
A long-term A License, good for three years, was awarded to thirteen teams, among them Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv.
One-year B Licenses were awarded to eight teams on the basis of their accomplishments in their local leagues, and a one-year C License was awarded to the finalist in the Eurocup, Khimki Moscow.
Also, eight additional teams have the possibility of qualifying for a one-year B License.
A qualifying round will eliminate all but two of these teams, and the two winning teams will earn the license.
Of the eight teams in this group, two are designated wild card teams, since they did not qualify according to the criteria but rather were selected by the league management.
