Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv returned from Europe with losses in Vitoria (Euroleague) and Zadar (Adriatic League) and hoped for an easy game in Raanana. But Bnei Hasharon gave them a close fight before succumbing 78-87.
The hosts led 30-22 the end of the first quarter but an improvement in the second put Maccabi 46-44 up at half time. Maccabi increased the lead to 68-60 at the end of the third and eventually won by 9 points.
Maccabi had total domination in the rebound 40-23. An excellent game for Quincy Lewis with 27 pts including 6-9 in three pointers.
