Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s starting point guard has sustained a tear in several ligaments in his right knee and in the meniscus, an MRI has revealed. To our sorrow, the dynamic player is out for the rest of the season.
Perkins, who was a key factor in Maccabi’s success this season and one of the most exciting players on the court, posted averages of 9.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.7 steals and was ranked 12th among the outstanding players of the season with an average index score of 13.42 in the Euroleague.
In the Lotto (Israeli) League, the guard averaged 14.2 points, 5 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.3 steals, and finished with an impressive triple-double against arch-rival Hapoel Jerusalem. He was ranked third in the league with an average of 21.7 index points.
In his two years with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, Perkins scored a total of 366 points in the Euroleague and 590 points in the Israeli League.
