As has become the custom in recent years, the Israeli Basketball League Administration will organize a season-opening tournament to be called the Chance Cup. The tournament will be held October 9 – 13 at Malha Arena in Jerusalem. Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv will face Barak Netanya in the quarterfinals.

The League Cup Tournament will be called by a new name starting this season – the Chance Cup. This week, the details of the event were ironed out including the participating teams and the order of the games. In keeping with the League Administration’s tradition, the competition will be held at Malha Arena in Jerusalem. The tournament will take place from October 9 – October 13, with the Final held at the end of the Sukkot holiday. The quarterfinal games will be held on Sunday and Monday.
On the first night, Maccabi Offici Rishon Lezion will play against Eshet Tours Bnei Hasharon, and Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem will take on Maccabi Yahad Habonim Ashdod, who will be appearing in the tournament for the first time. On the second night, Altshuler Shaham Gilboa Galil will play against Hapoel Holon, and Israel Cup holders and Israeli Champions Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv will face Barak Netanya. The quarterfinal games replicate the match-ups in the Israel Championship quarterfinals from last season.
