Fourty eight hours after losing in Ljubljana in the Euroleague, Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv faced Pivovarna Lasko hoping to go back to winning ways.
A “terrible” first quarter, in which Maccabi scored 11 pts to Lasko’s 25, did not pronise much. But the visitors won the second 27-18 and cut the drficit to only five pts (43-38).
This tendency continued in the third period (28-16 for Maccabi) and they started the final period leading 66-59. But fatigue crept into their game and Lasko reversed the score and led 82-81. Then Derrick Sharp took over, scored a three pointer and two free throws to give Maccabi a 86-82 win.
Top performer for Maccabi was Nikola Vujcic with 24 pts in 75% FG and 7 rebounds.
