Sylven Landesberg scored twice to end the quarter with Maccabi leading 31-16.

Smith reached 20 points early in the third quarter, but Maccabi’s offense couldn’t keep up the pace of the previous periods and Hapoel was able to narrow the gap to 58-35. Cohen’s hook shot in the paint and a trey by Ingles in the left corner got Maccabi back on track, and Smith added a putback to reset Maccabi’s lead at 20, 68-48. But Hapoel wasn’t done yet, and had cut that lead to 68-51by the end of the period.
A slick reverse layup by Landesberg and points by Smith kicked off the fourth quarter, but Hapoel continued to narrow the gap, reaching 73-61 after three minutes of play. Points from outside the arc by Ohayon stopped the red run, 78-62 halfway through the final period.
