Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv remained unbeaten in preseason play on Friday, after a 82:78 win over Fenerbahce in the Nick Galis Tournament in Rhodes, Greece.
Oded Kattash’s squad was in control for virtually the entire contest, and at one point led by 15 points. Wade Baldwin led all scorers in the game with 16 points, while Lorenzo Brown and Bonzie Colson each contributed 10.
Fenerbahce, led by familiar faces in Scottie Wilbekin and Yam Madar, tried to launch a late comeback by cutting Maccabi’s lead to just three points. But a crucial score by Josh Nebo in the final minute settled the outcome of the game.
The yellow-and-blue will scrimmage with Panathinaikos on Sunday in its second and final game of the tournament.
