Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv just keeps on running rampant. The Israeli champs secured their 15th win in a row, of which six are in the EuroLeague, with a commanding 95:80 victory over Valencia on Wednesday. It elevated the yellows to a 19-13 record with two regular season games left, and kept them in contention for the sixth seed in the playoffs.
After a back-and-forth first quarter, Maccabi took control of the contest in the second frame and ran away with it after the halftime break. Oded Kattash’s men were active and aggressive on defense and that had them bursting for easy points on the other hand, racking up a large number of thunderous dunks along the way.
Wade Baldwin IV was once again Maccabi’s top scorer with 17 points, along with career-best 4 steals. Josh Nebo continued his great form by scoring 15 points and grabbing 9 boards, while three other players added exactly 10 points each: Antonius Cleveland, Bonzie Colson and Jasiel Rivero.
The Maccabees will look to extend their win streak on Saturday with a road game vs Galil Elyon, with a Israeli cup quarter finals bout against Maccabi Ramat Gan in the horizon. Next up in the EuroLeague is a visit to Barcelona next Thursday.
