Maccabi downs Partizan 90:81 at home

Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv opened the second round in the Euroleague with a statement win over Zeljko Obradovic’s Partizan Belgrade. In front of a packed Menora Mivtachim Arena, the Yellows dominated the Serbs from beginning to end and improved to 10:8 in the competition with a 90:81 victory, two days before meeting Panathinaikos on Friday.

Maccabi ran fast to a 12:0 lead and prevented the opponent from catching up throughout the whole 40 minutes. Lorenzo Brown led the scorers with 21 points, but Bonzie Colson was there too for the Yellows with 19 points and energy that impacted his teammates and helped Oded Kattash’s team to stay in strong contention for a top 8 spot.

Maccabi’s week will proceed with another important game, against Panathinaikos on Friday.
