In a crazy game, played in a fantastic atmosphere at Menora Mivtachim Arena, Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv defeated Real Madrid 75:74 and made a big step towards securing its place in the Euroleague’s top 8. The Israeli champions are now ranked six in the table before visiting Athens to play Panathinaikos on Tuesday.
Avi Even asked for another electric night in the arena and got it. The yellow crowd put on a show and pushed Maccabi to a huge comeback in the fourth quarter. A late 10:0 run stunned the Blancos that looked frozen, thanks to an unforgettable performance from Keenan Evans (19 points).
The ticket to the playoffs isn’t guaranteed yet, but it sure feels very close.
