It was a night to remember at Menora Mivtachim Arena. In front of a packed hall and motivated by Zvika Sherf and Pini Gershon’s induction into the club’s hall of fame, Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv defeated CSKA Moscow 84:75 in one of the Yellows best performances this season.
Giannis Sfairopoulos’ players took the lead in the first quarter and didn’t look back. Scottie Wilbekin led the scorers with 23 points, but it was a team effort, with great defense, balanced attack, and composure in holding off a late Russian comeback attempt.
With this win, Maccabi improved to an 11:12 record in the Euroleague and will now prepare for the derby against Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the state cup semifinal (Monday).
