With its back to the wall, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv fought hard, showed character, and secured a dramatic 94:93 win over Baskonia Vitoria at Menora Mivtachim Arena. With this victory, The Yellows improved to a 12:13 record in the Euroleague and remained in contention for a playoffs spot.
Maccabi entered the fourth quarter trailing by six points, but James Nunnally and Ante Zizic (21 points each) led the comeback and forced a tight ending. Scottie Wilbekin’s clutch three-pointer and a great yellow defensive possession in the last minute secured the win for the hosts.
On Sunday, the Israeli champions will return to the battles in Winner’s league and meet Maccabi Rishon-Lezion.
