There are games you have to delete from your memory and move on. Such was Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv’s off-night in Piraeus, when absolutely nothing went right for the Yellows en-route to a 73:90 loss to Olympiacos. Giannis Sfairopoulos’ men are now down to a 7:4 record in the EuroLeague, and will be back on the court on Sunday when they visit Rishon LeZion in the Israeli League.

It was Maccabi’s worst game of the season. A combination of fatigue, a terrible shooting night and high-level execution of the hosts led to a one-sided game from wire to wire. Unpleasant as this game was to watch, this kind of games can happen to every team, certainly in a home court that is yet to see Olympiacos lose this season in EuroLeague play.

After his historic 37-point game in the win over Monaco on Wednesday, Scottie Wilbekin cooled off with just 6 points. Only a few players in Yellow-and-Blue did have a solid game, notably Roman Sorkin with 10 points and 8 rebounds, 7 of which came on the offensive end. The young Israeli big was one offensive board shy of tying Maccabi’s EuroLeague record, held by Othello Hunter and Alex Tyus.
