Hapoel Eilat is coming to the Menora with a four-game winning streak. Maccabi’s head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos: “We need to play better”. DeAndre Kane: “I’m ready”
“We need to be more consistent”, said coach Giannis Sfairopoulos ahead of the game versus Hapoel Eilat. “We had some good parts in the game in Jerusalem and also against Holon but we lost both so we need to have consistency for 40 minutes, to follow our plan and everybody who comes to play the game – to be ready to help the team, because some gaps that we had in the game was because we were not ready; I expect that after the two meetings that we had yesterday and today- video meetings, and in this two meetings we analyzed our last game and the next opponent”
“We need to play better”, coach Giannis added. “we lost one game after the elimination, the other loss was in the Fener game, but in general we need to adjust now; I said already that we need to change our chip, restart the computer – our minds, and everybody to be ready to play good in the Israeli league because this our last goal and everybody wants to fight for the last goal”.
“I feel good”, said DeAndre Kane. “My family is doing a good job to help me and also Maccabi- my teammates, the coaching staff- they’re really supportive to me and my situation so that feels good, glad to be back and try to win some games”.
“You can always improve your game, any team, but for us we just need to stay consistent, we know what we are capable of, in the EuroLeague and in the Israeli league. we don’t want to separate the leagues, but losing the last two games – it’s a bit of a long season and teams go on a losing streak”, added Kane. “We’ve seen some of the best teams go on a losing streak, we’ve seen this happen last year; we lost a few games and coming toward the end of the season we’ve started clicking really well and got everything going”.
