After a few weeks of intense practice sessions, Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv will open its preseason schedule with three matches against AEK Athens, Panathinaikos and Barcelona. For Coach Erez Edelstein, there’s no doubt that facing such fierce competition right from the start will bring some challenges, but also some benefits.
“We’re jumping straight into the Lion’s den”, said Edelstein, “the plus side is we’ll get a real good idea of the intensity level that will be required from us throughout the year. I hope we’ll benefit in a way that’ll help us along the way”.
“Preseason matches exist for a purpose. We need to see if the schemes we worked on in the last couple of weeks fit us in real-time. Plus there are a couple of players who need to shake off some rust. I hope we finish this week as a better team than we are going into it”.
