In round 10 of the Israeli Winner Sal League, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv rolled over Hapoel Eilat 96-69 at Menorah Mivtachim Arena. Devin Smith was top scorer with 19 points. Sylven Landesberg added 15 points and Taylor Rochstie scored 14 points. Brian Randle, Guy Pnini, and Yogev Ohayon contributed 9 points each.
Devin Smith, Brian Randle, Sylven Landesberg, Taylor Rochestie, and Trevor Mbakwe started for Maccabi. Smith was unstoppable in the early minutes of the game and together with Rochestie put Maccabi up 12-3 after three minutes. Back to back triples by Landesberg and Rochestie and five straight by by Yogev Ohayon made it 23-12 with three minutes left in the period. Eilat didn’t contribute much to the game, while Landesberg, Mbakwe, and Dragan Bender took Maccabi to 38-15.
The second quarter started with six points from downtown by Bender and a putback slam by Itay Segev that made it 46-22 after five minutes. Eilat woke up and put together six straight points, but Landesberg, Smith, Rochestie and Ohayon kept Maccabi’s lead comfortable, 57-32 at halftime.
Randle and Rochestie in the paint and Smith from outside the arc put Maccabi’s lead at 64-39 three minutes into the second half. The visitors showed signs of getting back into the game, but Rochestie and Smith kept Maccabi in the lead. Landesberg added points from the foul line and Guy Pnini scored to end the quarter with Maccabi up 74-50.
Landesberg, Pnini, Randle, and Smith (from the top of the arc) took Maccabi to 92-61 midway through the final period, and not much else happened after that. In the end, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv cruised to a 96-69 victory over Hapoel Eilat.
