In week 8 of the Israeli Winner Sal League, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv walloped Maccabi Haifa by forty points, 103-63 at Menora Mivtachim Arena. Jordan Farmar led all scorers with 18 points and 7 assists, team captain and game MVP Guy Pnini added 15 points, Brian Randle contributed 13 points and 6 rebounds, and Sylven Landesberg added 11 points.

Maccabi’s starters were Brian Randle, Guy Pnini, Dagan Yivzori, Trevor Mbakwe, and Taylor Rochestie. The yellows opened strong with a 14-4 run crafted by Mbakwe (assist Yivzori), Rochestie, Randle, and Pnini in the first three minutes. Haifa responded eventually to pull within five, but back to back triples by Pnini made it 20-11 just past the halfway mark. Despite a three pointer by Dragan Bender for Maccabi, the visitors cut their deficit to two, 25-23 with a minute and a half left in the period. A bucket and one by Ike Ofoegbu and Itay Segev with points from the foul line finished the quarter with Maccabi up 30-24.

Sylven Landesberg, Jordan Farmar, and Rochestie put together a 10-2 run that brought Maccabi’s lead to 40-26 after three and a half minutes. Despite a fast pace the following minutes were devoid of points, until Segev and Landesberg from the foul line and Pnini from downtown upped Maccabi’s advantage to 47-30 with two and a half minutes left in the period. A dunk by Segev ended the half with the score 51-35.

The second half got off to a slow start for both teams, until Yivzori and Randle combined to put Maccabi’s lead at twenty, 59-39 four minutes into the half. Pnini scored his fifth triple, and Randle added a reverse layup on a fast break to make it 66-40. Haifa tried to get back in the game, but Farmar, Landesberg, and Bender extended Maccabi’s lead to 83-46 as the period came to an end.

Farmar and Bender with a pair of threes, slam dunks by Mbakwe and Segev, and points from young Yovel Zoosman brought the crowd at Menora Mivtachim to their feet and the lead to its peak, 98-49 halfway through the fourth quarter. The rest of the period was garbage time, with Yivzori breaking the 100 mark and Zoosman adding an assist to Mbakwe. In the end, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv beat Maccabi Haifa 103-57.
