The Yellows rallied back from a double-digit deficit but fell 77:78 to the Reds. Jake Cohen scored 16 points
It was a bitter pill to swallow. Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv wanted to get a second win in 72 hours, but after the great victory over Olympiacos on Thursday, today came a tough 77:78 loss in the Tel-Aviv derby.
Maccabi rallied back from a double-digit deficit early in the third quarter to force close final minutes, but Scottie Wilbekin missed a crucial shot, and the Yellows ended up falling just short. Jake Cohen led the scorers with 16 points.
Maccabi still has a busy week to look forward to. The Israeli champions will face Alba Berlin on Tuesday, Fenerbahce on Thursday, and host Holon on Saturday at Menora-Mivtachim Arena.
