Maccabi Ralph Klein Tel Aviv held a special evening in the VIP Lounge of Nokia Arena to mark the conclusion of their latest year of activity. In attendance were members of club management as well as some of the club’s greatest stars of all time, including Doron Jamchi, who hosted the festivities, Miki Berkowitz, Aulcie Perry, Moti Daniel, and Tal Brody, whose upcoming 70th birthday was also celebrated at the event.

One of the highlights of the evening was the awarding of a #7 jersey to Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s team manager and former star center Nikola Vujčić, who has not yet officially retired from playing. In addition to a presentation describing all of the many activities of the veterans’ team in the past year, the former players also held a brief ceremony honoring the memory of the team’s former manager, the late Merav Tsuk, who passed away last year

Tal Brody: “I ask for good health: seventy sounds very old, but I don’t feel my age. I’m very proud of the years I spent in Maccabi Tel Aviv and of where we are now. We have Omri Casspi and Gal Mekel representing us with honor in the NBA; they are truly the pride of Israel.”

Doron Jamchi added: “Tal is one of the most devoted members of the veterans’ team; he attends nearly every event despite his busy schedule. He is a unique gentleman and a true Zionist. That’s one of the wonderful things he brought with him in the framework of the Maccabiah Games. He isn’t just the Good Will Ambassador of Israel, he is the ambassador of basketball. He is a great man.”
