Another great evening for Maccabi’s Tyrese Rice and Ricky Hickman, who contributed 24 and 20 points, respectively, to their teams’ efforts in the 2013 FIBA EuroBasket. Israel lost again and is close to being eliminated.

We promise that you won’t see a lot of red on this website, but we had to brag about Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s new point guard, Tyrese Rice, who scored 24 points and made 5 assists on Thursday with the Montenegrin National Team, and about Ricky Hickman, who contributed 20 points off superb percentages for Team Georgia. Incidentally, both of their teams lost by one point in the final seconds of the game.
Despite our hopes and expectations that our Israeli National Team would bounce back from the loss to Great Britain, they suffered their second straight defeat, 74-67 to Ukraine. It now looks likely that Israel will be eliminated from the competition. Top scorers were Nissim with 12 points, Halperin and Pnini with 9 points each, and Eliyahu with 8 points.
