David Blu returned to Israel today (Friday) and will soon be joining the team in practice. “I hope to contribute in any way I can, and to help as much as possible so that Maccabi will win another championship.”

Forward David Blu, who decided to end his retirement and return to playing pro basketball, arrived in Israel Friday afternoon and will in the coming days join the team in practice, so his overall physical conditioning and game readiness can be determined. Based on that, the team will decide, together with Blu, whether or not he will be joining the roster. “It’s great to be back in a familiar place, Israel has always been like home to me, and I’m happy to be here. I made the decision together with my family. It’s a great opportunity for me and I am happy to be playing again.”
“I think I’m in pretty good shape; I’ve kept fit. Right now I know that I’ll take a physical on Sunday and begin to practice, work out with the team, and we’ll see where I am. I just really missed the game, playing basketball and practicing daily. Right now, I’m just thinking about getting to the hotel, relaxing a bit and practicing. I hope to contribute in any way I can, and to help as much as possible so that Maccabi will win another championship.”
