As the 2015-16 season gets underway, the Euroleague has released their official data for the years 2009-2015, which reveals that Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv is first in the weighted index.
The Euroleague power rankings, which influence the assignment of licenses to play in the league, is determined by measuring four categories: achievements in Europe, achievements in local leagues, number of fans in the arena, and number of television viewers. With all of the data for these four areas considered together for the years 2009-2015, Maccabi is ranked first on the chart with a score of 89 (out of maximum of 100).
Rounding out the top five on the chart are: Olympiacos (86), Panathinaikos (83.5), Barcelona (80.5), and Real Madrid (76.5). CKSA Moscow holds sixth place, followed by Fenerbahce, Zalgiris, Anadolu Efes, and Kutxa Laboral Vitoria.
