Maccabi’s new addition at center is not afraid to set the bar high: “this team was built to go far. I love the roster and the system”
Colton Iverson has only been a part of Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv for two weeks but in his eyes, it’s more than enough to recognize the vast potential this team holds. “Maccabi is a great club”‘, said Iverson, “everyone speaks highly of it. There’s a wonderful tradition here and it’s very exciting to be as part of it”.
As far as expectations go, the big man is not afraid to set the bar high: “When i was looking at the team, while i was looking to transfer, it was an eye opening expirience. We have scoring options in every position with multiple players. We’re athletic, big and strong. This is a team that’s going to be in the Final Four and contend for the championship. That’s the way we’re built and that’s our goal”.
Iverson also like his place in the system implemented by Coach Erez Edelstein: “I feel like I’m underrated as a passer so I like being in a system where I don’t just sit in the paint all game. I look forward to getting out to the mid or high post, passing and doing a lot of pick and rolls”.
