Maccabi Fox Tel Aviv is happy to announce the signing and the comeback of the human spring Alex Tyus to a two year deal.
Tyus (29, 2.03), is an active
center at both ends of the court who can finish efficiently around the rim, he is also known for his great timing when it comes down to blocking shots.In his previous stint wearing the yellow and blue uniform, Alex was one off the team’s all great helping the club achieve its sixth European title while being named the month of April MVP after he averaged 13.5P 5.5R and 2B in the playoff series vs Milan. In his two years with
Maccabi he has won domestically one championship and two cups and the EuroLeague championship.In the summer of
2015 Alex has left Israel and joined Anadolu Efes Istanbul where he averaged 5.9P and 3R in the EuroLeague. He then moved to Galatasaray where he averaged in 10P 5.2R 1.5B and a 14.3 PIR in the EuroLeague – career high numbers. During the 2016/17 EuroLeague campaign he was ranked 2nd in blocked shots (1.5) and in two points percentage (68.6).Tyus who averaged for the first time in his career double digits in
scoring, will begin his sixth season in the EuroLeague after playing a year in Italy (Cantu) two years with Maccabi and two years in Turkey (Anadolu, Galatasaray).
