Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv added another force to its frontcourt with the signing of Karam Mashour, who led the Israeli League in rebounding last season with 10.3 per game for Bnei Herzliya, to a two-plus-one contract

Maccabi Tel Aviv is happy to announce the addition of Karam Mashour who signed a 2+1 deal. Bnei Herzelia would have the first priority to sign back Karam should Maccabi (who payed buyout for the player) would decide to part ways with the player before the completion of the contract.

Mashour (1.98, 26) who averaged a seasonal double double (rebounds and points) during the 2016/17 season can play in both forward positions and is very well known for his exceptional working ethic as well as his high energies and aggressiveness.
Mashour who was born in Nazareth to a Christian family will be the first ever Israeli-Arab to wear the yellow jersey. Karam started playing basketball at the age of 13 for the youth department off Maccabi YMCA, and then moved to the youth team of Emeq Yizrael which he led to the 2009 cup final vs Maccabi Tel Aviv, a game he finished with 28P and 15R.
The 2009/10 season was his first playing for Emeq Yizrael’s first team, at the end of that season he committed to UNLV where he played for two years before moving to Kentucky where he played for Morehead state. During his last season with Morehead state at NCAA Karam averaged 10.9P and 5.9R in 22MPG.
In the summer of 2015 Karam signed with Bnei Herzelia where he played for the last two seasons. Karam was selected to the Israeli league rising star in 2016 where he averaged 8.2P and 4.1R per game. During the 2016/17 season Karam has positioned himself as one of the best Israeli players in the league as he averaged 14.5P 10.3R and 1.5S and was ranked 7th in PIR amongst Israeli league. He also played in FIBA’s Eurocup where he averaged 15.3 and 6.9. Karam was also selected to the Israeli NT preliminary squad for the 2017 EuroBasket.
