DiBartolomeo after the 99:84 loss to Zalgiris: “The result is what it is”. Roll: “We gave up too many points”
“Not our best performance”, said John DiBartolomeo after the game. “we didn’t do the things we wanted to focus on, on both ends of the floor and that’s why the result is what it is”.
Coach Neven Spahija added: “Zalgiris played an amazing game, they had a season high scoring three points and I think it’s a lesson if a team scores so many threes in a high percentage it’s very difficult to play basketball. We have to fix some stuff on defense and to go back home and prepare for our next EuroLeague game because we are still fighting for the playoffs. Tonight Zalgiris were the way better team”.
Michael Roll, who finished the game with 17P: “Well it’s too evident we gave up too many points, they were making shots early and we let them get into the rhythm by making the shots and they just continued, once they got their confidence, then they made tougher shots, credit to them they are a good team especially at home, they played well”.
Regarding what happened after making it a one point game said Roll: “I wish I knew, I’ve been replaying it in my head but, not exactly sure, so we have to go back and watch the film, after that they went on a little run to get their lead back”.
DeShaun Thomas: “Tough game. We knew they played really well and knock down shots. some guys that are not shooters knocked down shots, but that’s what you get when you’re playing at your home court, you get guys who not shooters knock down shots but overall they played well, we got it down to just one point in the third quarter but they started making shots. I think we got to do better on reading situations out there and locking the defense, you can’t think so much because teams are running with a great pace, so we got to make the adjustments out there”.
