John-Di arrived to Israel: “I’ll do my best to be the best captain possible”. Not that long after Alex Tyus joined him: “Black looks like a very good player that can help us”
“It’s good to be back, I’m excited for the upcoming season”, said Maccabi’s Captain John DiBartolomeo. “I’ve worked hard during the offseason so that I can come back in shape. I’m excited to start the season as the team captain, it’s a great honor and I’ll do my best to be the best captain possible. I’m excited to be back here and see the fans and can’t wait to play for them soon”.
When asked about the fact that the team kept its staff and core the guard replied: “I think it’s very important. That’s how you create a connection between the players right from the start. It’s easier to get a few players together than 12 new players. I still don’t know personally those who have joined they look impressive and I’m excited to meet them and see them play”.
“I’ve missed the fans there’s a lot of love for Maccabi here in Israel, especially when win the way we did last season”, said Alex Tyus, who ended last season with MVP honors in the F4. “It’s great to be back”.
“Last year we had a lot of new player that got together for the first time, this year we have a few guys who are coming back and a few new ones arrived hopefully they will help us make another step forward” the center added. “We’re looking forward to starting the season, I have yet to talk to Tarik Black, I’ve seen his highlights. He looks like a very good player that can help us”.
“I hope that we will a few more titles this season that’s the goal”, Tyus sent a message to the fans. “We will play the hardest we can for you. Yalla Maccabi”.
