“There’s no special feeling, the group is working hard, I think we did a good job the last two weeks, unfortunately we don’t have all the players in the roster but it is what it is and we’re going to try to take as much as possible from this tournament and this group of players”.
Coach Spahija also addressed keeping the core: “Keeping the core is always helping definitely, this year we didn’t change 12 players and at least we know what we can count on , for the fans and everybody the clear message is they are going to see the real Maccabi from Zadar tournament and maybe Winner Cup is going to be the right time to see Maccabi this year”.
Johnny O’bryant who started practicing with the team a week ago said: “It’s been good,we got a lot of good players, great coach and I’m excited to get out here and start playing some games with these guys”.
The forward also talked about the preseason tournament in Cyprus: “I think overall just to get our game legs under us, we’re still missing a lot of guys but overall just kinda get team chemistry and get ourselves going a little bit”.
