Coach Neven Spahija after the win over Hapoel Be’er Sheva: “To win with so many young Israeli players is a good sign”. Angelo Caloiaro: “We’ll be ready for Thursday if we won’t play hard we can’t win”
“It was a close game and experience won”, said coach Neven Spahija after the 66:64 win over Be’er Sheva. “We played with a different roster than usual, to win with so many young Israeli players is a good sign. We shortened the rotation, we changed the small things and the most important thing is that we won”.
“It was a good game against a good team”, said Angelo Caloiaro. “In the half we played without energies, and in the second half we turned things around. The level of energy was low, we’re without Scottie, Pargo and Kendrick, we’re without our three point guards and it’s hard”.
When asked about the level of energies for Maccabi’s upcoming game against Olympiacos Angelo replied: “I think it is part of our job to make the transition from the league to the EuroLeague, the rotation changes every game, it’s different but we’re playing hard every game. We’ll be ready for Thursday if we won’t play hard we can’t win”.
