Less than 48 hours after the loss to Ness Ziona on the road and just over 48 hours before their crucial game against Baskonia, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv played against Herzliya wanting to get back into winning ways. Coach Sfairopoulos’ squad took control over the game in the first quarter and imposed their will throughout the game getting the 77:87 away win and improving their domestic record to 7:2. The yellows’ will now start preparing for their EuroLeague game versus Baskonia.

“There are no easy games in this league”, said Coach Giannis Sfairopoulos. “It’s very equal and you always have to be ready to play with aggressiveness and to be focused or else they will make us pay for it. Today we managed to that thanks to a good second half, we remained focused and kept our rhythm and that’s what gave us the win”.

“Against Baskonia it will be a different game and of course we will prepare for it”, added the coach. “We expected a tough game, they scored 105 points a few days ago, we started the game focused and we kept it for most parts. There were some moments that we weren’t aggressive enough, we know that we need to fight every game very hard, we reacted well after the game (i.e. Ness Ziona) but that doesn’t mean that we can’t improve our game”.

“In this time of the year, having four games this week, and before the national team’s window, we couldn’t practice. It’s hard to improve without working on the court”, Sfairopoulos explained. “I saw an improvement and I’m happy, the only player that played a lot of minutes is Zoosman but he’s young and his body can recover faster”.
